Please Remember...

When preparing your project application:

  • Please provide as much detail as possible with your application regarding the project description and design, the project benefits, and your estimated costs and materials and supplies needed.  If the Northern Larimer County HPP committee does not have enough information or details from your project application, review or approval of your project could be delayed up to several months while we request further information.  Please review the “sample application” on our website for an idea of the detail that we are looking for in a completed application (note that we have excluded photos, maps, drawings, or figures from the sample application).
  • Estimated costs and materials should be broken down and itemized in the application.  Applications also should include design specifications, photos, location maps, figures, drawings, or other attachments as needed for project locations and/or proposed structures.
  • For estimated project costs, clearly include and itemize the total project cost, the dollar amount you are requesting from the NLCHPP, and costs that you are contributing for the project (both in-kind contributions or other funding you have obtained).  Note that any future maintenance costs are the responsibility of the applicant and should not be included in the requested funding or total project cost.
  • For projects that are approved for funding by the NLCHPP, typical in-kind contributions usually (but not always) amount to half of the total project cost or greater.  In-kind contributions can include the cost of labor (volunteer or contracted) and materials/supplies, or other obtained funding sources (e.g. other grant dollars).  A standard cost for volunteer labor is $XX per hour. PLEASE NOTE: You will be required to submit invoices to the NLCHPP Committee in order to receive any reimbursement for projects.
